SHUJAAT KHAN and TEJENDRA NARAYAN MAJUMDAR present a rendition of raga Hemant. Their alap emphasises the poignant facet of the raga, although a touch of romance is inherent in its melodic personality and the gats favour Hemant’s romantic, vivacious facet. The scintillating quality of the music here is hardly a surprise considering that the partnership of Shujaat and Tejendra has matured beautifully.
